A physical exam is your veterinarian's best tool for identifying anything that might be keeping your pet from optimum health. Your veterinarian will move in a methodical, experienced way using their senses to examine all of your pet's body systems. If no abnormalities are found, then your pet should be examined every 6 months to ensure they continue to be happy and healthy. If your veterinarian identifies any points of concern during the exam, it is their job to explain these abnormal findings to you and discuss your diagnostic and treatment options. The earlier we can identify possible concerns, the more options we can explore for environmental changes, routine changes, medications or other treatments as needed.
