Bay Area Respiratory Illness Outbreak
SHARE
Do you hear coughing coming from the dog park? We have had a 5-fold increase in the number of pet parents concerned about their coughing dogs. Within a few days these dogs develop nasal discharge. If you haven't protected your dog from the most common respiratory infections, we can help protect them! If your dog is already sick, keep them home for three weeks after signs have disappeared to prevent spreading infection to others.

If you have vaccinated your dog according to Fuzzy's recommendations, then you have significantly decreased the chance of your dog becoming infected with this illness! If you haven't protected your dog from the most common respiratory infections yet, help us to help you by scheduling a visit with our team!

If your dog is already sick, keep them home for three weeks (seriously...three full weeks) after coughing has subsided to prevent spreading the infection to others. If you have never heard a dog cough, and your dog starts making an odd sound, send us the video through our app and we can help you decide if it is a cough. Besides coughing, pet parents should watch for abnormal discharge from the nose or eyes and a decrease in appetite or energy. If these signs are seen, consult with us and we will help you decide the best next step to keep your fuzzy family member safe and back to full health as soon as possible.
