Dr. Gina is a Bay Area native who grew up in the East Bay but has lived her adult life in San Francisco. She received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and she worked at Genentech in biotech research for 7 years before deciding to follow her true passion and become a veterinarian. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2006 with her DVM and has been a veterinarian ever since. She currently works at Fuzzy as an in home veterinarian and she loves what she does! She is certified in low stress handling and her interests are wellness/preventative medicine, teaching new puppy parents how to raise perfect puppies, geriatric pain management and care including helping owners understand and cope with canine cognitive dysfunction (dementia).
Dr. Gina has one dog, Fyn, who is blind but can fetch with the best of them using his hearing and a ball that makes sounds. She has a strong interest in dog training and behavior and enjoyed participating in many dog sports such as Flyball, Agility and Frisbee when Fyn was younger (and could still see!).
When not helping animals and pet parents at Fuzzy, Dr. Gina can be found sailing, swing dancing, running half marathons or playing at the beach with Fyn.
